What are you reading?
Apart from the numerous emails and correspondence associated with council, I have been studying a bull sale catalogue for an upcoming sale and reading The Land newspaper and other literature that comes my way.

What are you watching?
The odd repeat of movies
What music are you listening to?
Friends of ours recently lost their grandson, so our mortality was in discussion, along with what music we would like at our funeral. David Frizzell and Shelly West's song 'You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma', Led Zepplin's 'Stairway to Heaven', Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs 'Most People I Know Think That I Am Crazy' and the band Pink Floyd's song 'Wish You Were Here' are but a few that were considered.
What are you cooking?
I am fortunate that my wife does a lot of the cooking, but I do dabble in cooking roasts, corn beef, racks of lamb and Kylie Kwong's slow cooked chicken.

How are you staying fit, both physically and mentally?
Living on a farm, I am used to spending time by myself, so having regular phone communication with friends suits me. Fitness wise, I am doing normal farm jobs that keep me reasonably fit.
What's the one thing keeping you sane?
I enjoy being with my dogs and working cattle and particularly like watching the interaction between the dogs and cattle.
Are you working from home? If so how's that going, if not what's work like for you now?
As mentioned, living on a farm means I have been working from home for many years.
What's something positive you've witnessed or experienced since the coronavirus hit?
I am proud by the way the people in our community have embraced the messages from the Governments and the health experts and how various businesses have adapted their way of operating to keep going. It has been tough, but I have seen people being positive and not letting things get them down.
What's your advice for others to cope with the crisis?
Look after yourself, your family and loved ones. Keep in touch with your friends, be it by having a few drinks and a chat via the internet, or using the phone to keep in contact.
- Simon Murray is the mayor of Armidale Regional Council.
