City opened the batting with Kyle Taylor and Ian Ogilvie who posted 22 runs between them before Taylor was caught on 18 off the bowling of Jackson Gwynne.
Kieran Dennis' introduction to first grade was shortlived when he went for a duck but Andy Sawyer, new recruit Callum McKercher and Andrew Skinner settled things as City went on to post 7-225.
Easts' captain Sam Uphill was happy with his side's efforts with the ball.
"We bowled pretty tight lines. We found pretty early if you miss your line or length, you paid the price," he said.
"Jackson missed his line twice in the first over and they were 0-8 after bowling a pretty good first over.
"Mitch Foster bowled very well for his first grade debut, he bowled very tight so that was nice."
In reply, the Easts power-hitters put on a performance.
Dean Waters and Cody Graham got things going with 66 before Graham was dismissed on 37, which included two fours and four sixes.
Graham's departure brought Clarrie Moran to the crease and the man known as 'Clash' blasted the ball around the park.
Waters continued his 55-run stand as Moran smashed 81 runs with nine fours and six sixes before he was bowled by Karl Triebe.
Cameron Ashe then stepped up with 42 not out as he and Waters finished off the run chase in 27.5 overs.
"It was a par score, I probably thought we would have to bat pretty well and I didn't think we would come out and do that," Uphill said of Easts' run chase.
"I thought it was going to take some chasing down.
"I think it has gone and set the precedence for the whole year now.
"If anyone gets going, there could be some big scores and some big run chases this year."
