The long weekend had multiple teams traveling away to represent the New England Hockey region.
The open men's team travelled to Western Sydney and despite a valiant effort could not get past Wagga Wagga in the grand final going down in a shootout but they will raise their heads up and come back next year stronger and hungrier to get that title.
The open women's also travelled to Bathurst and in the cold conditions played strong hockey beating many of their opponents but again could not sustain the momentum and went down in the Grand Final to
Nathan Czinner returned from Europe with the gold medal from the Australian under 16 school boys team that toured Germany.
Has Hockey New England got another potential Hockeyroo in the making?
Brook Anderson, Sarah Osborne and Brittany Parker have made selection for the women's state team and the men's have Darby Chalmers , Ben Hanlan and Jake McCann will all be going to represent NSW in Shepperton in early August.
