Under 8s
Last Saturday, Guyra hosted the Bingara Bullets at the Sporting Complex.
Guyra started strong, scoring the first two trys but Bingara hit back to lead 10-8 at half time.
The second half was much the same with Bingara giving Guyra their first defeat of the season, defeating Guyra 22-20.
Guyra try scorers were Archie Dowden 2, Wacheem Patterson 1, Riley Campbell 1 and Brandon Landsborough 1.
Guyra scored more trys than Bingara but couldn’t kick a goal. All players tried hard with Gane Harbutt, Rave Brazier, Tynan Bull, Hugo and Tommy Brazier all defending well.
Akasia Brazier, Harrison Brazier, Ty Mulligan, Shanae Bull and Mia Wilson all going close to scoring with the ball.
This week we travel to Moree so I hope to see all players there.
Under 10’s
With the season’s end drawing nearer, the boys were determined to keep up their good performance; they didn’t let themselves down.
Bingara came over short a few players so a big thanks to the Guyra boys that played for the other side – Alistair, Angus, Sean and Ben.
Defence was strong but as always the boys’ attack found all the gaps in Bingara’s defence, giving them a good lead as they went into the half time break. The half time score was 26-12.
Guyra didn’t stop their attacking game as they streaked ahead of the Bingara team on the field and on the score board. A good effort by all resulted in this full time score: 52-16.
Trys scored: Billy 5, Jake 4, Alistair 1 and Jayden 1.
Points this week: Billy Youman 3, Tom Lockyer 2 and Ben Stevens 1.
Well done.
