The bakery closed a number of months ago, leaving an unsavoury taste in some people's mouths, but luckily for them Adam Hayes swept in to keep the bakery - and it's brand - alive.
"The Pie Mechanic is an iconic brand in NSW, so with it being closed there was a decrease in trade in Uralla and I saw an opportunity to revitalise the brand and reopen," he said.
"I think the brand holds its own, especially with the involvement of Phil, the pies are going to be very similar to what they were originally if not better."

Given Mr Tutt's return, and the fact Mr Hayes grew up in Uralla, the town has well and truly got behind the new management.
Mr Hayes said the support has been immense and other local businesses have been more than happy to help out.
"The reception has been astronomical, the local business community has been extremely supportive, especially with places like Dale's Downtown Meats which has really got on board," he said.
He said they're striving to do things with a point of difference and making more products in a home-style fashion, right down to making their own syrups for milkshakes.
Despite moving abroad and even living in England for a number of years, Mr Hayes said it made him proud to own his own little slice of Uralla.
"I'm really excited, we've got a really good team behind us, we're focusing on building their skills," he said.
"We've got everything from after-school kids to a brand new baker, Sam Craven, on site who is making amazing pastries.
"We've definitely built a team that offers well-and-above customer service to go along with the pies."
