With so many regional communities hit hard by bushfires this year, many families may be foregoing Christmas, or living in temporary housing.
Major Peter Spindler from Armidale's Salvation Army said Newcastle Permanent's ongoing support at Christmas was a great blessing each season.
"Each Christmas thousands of families reach out to The Salvation Army for assistance, and partnerships like this help us to ensure that every family has the chance to experience the joy of Christmas," he said.
Donations for The Salvation Army's annual Christmas Appeal can be made at any of Newcastle Permanent's branches orhead office for individuals and families who might otherwise not receive any gifts or enjoy festivities this Christmas.

Newcastle Permanent's Armidale branch acting manager, Terry Manning, said each year the collection highlights the community's generosity.
"It's remarkable how many people donate gifts year after year on top of their own family giving," he said.
"We ask that people consider all ages when choosing donations.
"It can be lots of fun choosing toys for little kids, but we often forget that teenagers are still big kids at heart and that parents doing it tough are always keen to give their older kids a memorable Christmas as well."
Some teenage gift ideas could include gift vouchers (shopping centre, movies, restaurants, book store etc), clothes, beauty products, sporting experiences/equipment, electronic/technological devices, board or online games, books and magazine subscriptions.
The collection will run until Friday, December 20.
