The Rams thrashed the Moree Boomerangs 52-nil in their round 15 match at Armidale's Rugby League Park on Sunday.
With the clash their last before playing the major semi-final on August 10, coach Jess Smith was hoping they could shake off their recent losses and finish the regular season with a win.
"We knew that the result on Sunday wouldn't change any ladder standings or results, but it was important for us to go out as a team and perform the best we could before heading into finals," she said.
"We had had two consecutive losses and we knew this was the last chance to turn it around before the finals, and that's exactly what we did.
"Not only did we manage to score plenty of points, but it was the first time this season we were able to keep the opposition to nil."
Smith wanted her players to lift their energy and it paid off.
"We spoke about our effort and intensity levels and the importance of having them at 100 per cent for a full game," she said.
"We also knew we needed to return to our basics and get the little things cleaned up as they make the biggest difference overall."
Smith also lauded their camaraderie.
"What impressed me the most was how the girls all managed to pull together and play for each other despite the adversity through out the last couple of weeks," she said.
"You can either let those things beat you or you can use it to motivate you and drive you further and the team chose the latter and came out with one of their biggest wins of the season."
When the full-time siren sounded, much to the crowd's delight, both teams engaged in a rugby union-style kicking contest with each team kicking to the other repeatedly before the ball was eventually kicked over the sideline to fully finish the match.
After the league tag match, the reserve grade commenced.
The Rams were bolstered by a large contingent of first grade players turning out and managed to pull off a gritty win.
The home side led 14-6 at half-time and their momentum continued in the second stanza, winning 24-16.
The Rams A-grade team finished their season without a win, despite coming close a number of times throughout the year.
Against the Boomerangs, the first 40 minutes were tough.
The Moree side ran in 32 unanswered points.
In the second-half, the Rams managed to post 10 points but couldn't catch up, the Boomerangs taking the win 58-10.
