But, in the end, Easts got away with a convincing win over second-placed Guyra.
Easts batted first and lost two wickets in quick succession, courtesy of their former player Tyson Burey, to be 2-22.
It didn’t prove all that helpful for Guyra though as Todd Francis and Cody Graham combined for a 59-run partnership before Graham was dismissed on 32.
Easts piled on the runs and didn’t lose another wicket until they reached 156 when Francis was trapped lbw.
Cameron Ashe posted 39 and Aaron Whackett 29 in other notable performances for Easts as they finished all out for 258.

“One of our five nearly went on with it but didn't quite but everyone chipped in and made a good score in the end,” Francis said.
“Initially there at drinks, Guyra did well to peg it back.
“We were cracking along at a pretty good pace. Guyra put a bit of a strangle on us there and kept us under 300 which was I thought was going to be really good so credit to them, they stuck at it for most of the day.”
Easts welcomed back quick Jackson Gwynne who didn’t miss a beat, claiming 4-16 as his side rolled Guyra for 82. Gwynne’s opening partner Sam Uphill claimed 3-21 while Francis and Brandon Burey picked up one wicket each.
“Everything clicked. I said last week we hadn't done everything in a full performance but on Saturday everything seemed to click into place for us. It felt pretty good to put a whole team performance together,” Francis said.
