A handy bowling attack featuring captain Todd Francis, Jackson Gwynne, Karl Triebe, Andrew Skinner, Sam Uphill and Nick Farrar, set to work early with Gwynne snaring the breakthrough.
Inverell played out their 50 overs, Richard Wilson top-scoring with 40, and managed 9-147.
“We knew what the outfield was going to be like, it was going to be pretty steady so we knew our conditions a bit at the start of the day,” Francis said.
“The pitch played up a little bit early and then flattened out for us in our innings.”
Matt Baillie and BJ Cameron opened the batting for Armidale. Baillie hit five fours on his way to 46. Cameron departed on 17 and Clarrie Moran stepped up.
He belted 10 fours for 56 runs before he was caught.
Matt Finlay finished the innings with 16 not out alongside the skipper as they chased down Inverell’s total in 34.1 overs, landing a seven-wicket win.

They stuck to the task pretty well and made a difficult chase of 140-odd relatively simple which is good.
“He is a pretty formidable player when he gets going, he scores so quickly.
“He probably showed the way to bat on that deck to be completely honest, just go for it a bit. He and Bails just kept the scoreboard ticking along so well that made the job around them pretty easy really.
“He showed some pace between the wickets, the old fella too, which is a sign of him enjoying his cricket which is really good, not just from the rep stuff but personally from our club too.
“It is really good to see him back hitting a few balls.”
