Students compete in teams of three and, in 90 minutes, perform a set of acid-base titrations to determine the unknown concentration of dilute acetic acid.
A team's score will depend on the accuracy of the work of its members, and the best team score wins medals for the team and all competitors receive certificates.

Quirindi High School is sending five students, Jess Forsyth, Corey Faulkner, Grace Cowan, Heidi Campbell and Kelsey Hawkins who have been busy preparing for the competition, under the guidance of head science teacher Andrew Harries.
“The aim of the competition is to encourage students who enjoy chemistry - especially practical chemistry - and to recognise those who are becoming proficient, it is about encouraging student learning and confidence,” Mr Harries said.
