Northern Tablelands MP and Minister responsible for TAFE NSW Adam Marshall congratulated students Emika Denzel and Ardina Jackson, who beat out some strong competition to win the major awards in their categories.

“I’m thrilled that two Armidale students have been recognised at the TAFE NSW Excellence Awards,” Mr Marshall said.

“Emika and Ardina have both worked extremely hard during their studies and in addition to achieving wonderful qualifications, they are officially up there with very best TAFE students in the whole State.”

Emika was named the School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year for her studies in Certificate III in Health Assistant while Ardina Jackson won the Industry Achievement  Award for Agribusiness for her studies in the Diploma of Agriculture,.

“TAFE is the largest provider of education and training in Australia and with two local students picking up awards this week it shows TAFE in Armidale and our great teachers are providing young people with the best opportunities,” Mr Marshall said.

“TAFE students are in high demand because of the quality of their education and ability to hit the ground running with relevant and practical skills and I am thrilled to see local students from the public VET provider receive these accolades.”

“Congratulations to Emika and Ardina and I look forward to seeing even more of our region’s TAFE students and teachers recognised in the future.”
