Water Main Replacement – Kootingal and South Tamworth
There will some minor impacts to traffic flow in Anthony Road, South Tamworth and Irvine Street, Kootingal from next week when work starts on water main replacement and upgrades.
In Anthony Road about 525 metres of water main will be replaced, starting at the Robert Street intersection and progressing towards Garden Street. Disruption to the traffic flow is expected to be minimal because the new main will be installed in the footpath rather than the centre of the street where it now lies. Similar work will start in nearby Susanne Street on May 1.
In Irvine Street, a 300 metre section of water main will be replaced with larger 200mm-diametre section of pipe.
There will be short interruptions to the water supply in the streets in a few weeks when replacement services to properties are cut in. Residents will be advised of the dates and times once they are known.
