Allarnna Jade Manager appeared via video link from a women’s prison in Armidale Local Court on Monday afternoon and made no application for bail.
The 29-year-old was arrested by Armidale detectives on Friday night and is accused of stabbing the man in the hands and torso after an argument broke out inside a Hargrave St unit.
She was not required to enter a plea to the charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and reckless wounding.
Magistrate Michael Holmes formally refused bail, ordering her to stay in custody until the case returns to court later this month.
The alleged victim remains in Armidale hospital in a stable condition. Detectives are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
