
Police have charged two brothers following an alleged assault in Tingha on Wednesday.
At around 11am two men aged 19 and 24, approached a parked vehicle on Ruby Street armed with golf clubs and a knife.
The two men allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old man and caused damage to the vehicle.
An 18-year-old man attempted to intervene the altercation, however was also allegedly assaulted.
The victims fled the scene and were later treated for minor injuries.
New England Local Area Command police arrested a 19-year-old man on Thursday and he has been charged with assault occasioning actual body harm, common assault, armed with intent and array and malicious damage.
He was bail refused to appear at Inverell Local Court on Thursday afternoon.
Investigations are continuing to identify others that may have been involved.
