The Guyra team has participated in this sporting event for the last four years. This year the team was the second biggest team in the event comprising 17 riders and 6 support crew, with 7 new riders.
The youngest rider was 16 and our oldest 60, and they all gelled together to help each member make the three day grueling 210km ride from Armidale to South West rocks.
The team works hard to be fit and able to do the ride and has an amazing support team with them who give freely of their time for this wonderful cause. Every year new riders are encouraged to join the event.
The amount of money raised by the Guyra team with registrations and fund raising was $15,321.
This money goes to cancer research and also to our local community to help people living with cancer.
The Guyra MPS received $3072 for an electric hospital bed and the Can Assist has also received $3000 from tour de Rocks which directly helps people living in the Guyra community suffering from cancer.
Without the dedicated Guyra bike riding team Guyra would not be getting this much funding from Tour de Rocks.
