“I think we should be right,” Nomads player-coach Zac Economou said.
“The Swans would have to beat us by about 250 points.”
That scenario appears unlikely, with the lowly Swans winning just one match in 2015 compared to the top of the table Nomads losing just one.
The Nomads used last weekend’s bye to freshen up with the finals fast approaching, but the two weeks of training either side of the bye have been anything but relaxing.
“We’ve had a couple of big weeks on the training track so it was good to have a weekend off,” Economou said.
“We got some running into the legs at training, just making sure we have plenty of kilometres under us.”
It would be easy for the Nomads to just go through the motions during tomorrow’s fixture in Tamworth, but Economou will be making every effort to make sure that doesn’t happen.
“We need to tune up for the finals,” he said.
“It’s time to start playing our style of football.”
Economou said the game will also be used to move past their disappointing effort last time out in a sloppy win against the Inverell Saints.
“We played a bad game last time,” he said.
“I don’t’ want to do that again.”
The Nomads coach is also doing everything in his power to ensure his squad doesn’t drop in intensity against a bottom of the table side.
“They have been struggling, but it is still up to us to play good football,” Economou said.
“We need to work on moving the ball around.
“This is a really good chance for us to put things we have been working on in training into a game.”
