A MAN who allegedly broke into an Armidale house while the female resident was at home has had fresh charges laid against him while still in custody.

Michael Booby appeared in front of the Armidale Local Court by video link from a correctional facility on Wednesday, facing a total of eight charges relating to two separate days of criminal activity in March.
On March 7, Booby is alleged to have broken into two separate houses, stolen a vehicle and led police on a road pursuit while driving the stolen vehicle recklessly.
The court heard Booby broke into a home on Donnelly Street, with the circumstances aggravated by the fact that the resident was at home during the invasion.
Magistrate Karen Stafford said Booby used violence against the woman.
As a result he was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter committing serious indictable offence, however of one those charges was withdrawn and dismissed on Wednesday.
A charge of enter building with intent to commit indictable offence replaced this charge, coupled with one count of larceny to the value of greater than or equal to $2000.
Booby’s activity on March 7 also earnt him a take and drive conveyance without consent of owner charge and one count of police pursuit with failure to stop while driving recklessly.
He also had matters before the court from an incident on March 14 which resulted in one count of aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence and stalk or intimidate intend physical harm.
Booby pleaded guilty to all charges, which will return to the district court on December 17.
It will be a busy time in the lead up to Christmas for the accused and his legal representatives, with Booby also set to stand trial in the district court on December 10, facing charges relating to a different series of break and enters.
