To mark 25 years, Arts North West (ANW) have launched a postcard project for community members to pick up, decorate, and send back their artistic creations, which will be featured in an online gallery.

Arts North West Communications Officer Michele Jedlicka said the milestone was a huge win for rural art.

"In the regions because we're all so dispersed across a huge area, it's important that we have a reminder and support of how critical the arts are in our community," she said.

Ms Jedlicka said it was crucial that locals were involved in recognising the accomplishment.

"It's a way we can celebrate our community and everyone can take part," she said.

With no deadline or limit on creativity, Ms Jedlicka said she hoped to see a variety of artistic expressions.

"Kids can take part in it, families can take part, it's a very small easy thing."

While the organisation has dedicated a quarter of a century to regional artists, they have big plans for the future.

Ms Jedlicka said next year ANW would be focusing on programs catered towards people with disabilities, female mental health and were seeking ideas from residents.

"We're always looking for innovative ways that we can build up our communities," she said.

The postcards can be picked up from various locations across the region including Bingara Tourism, Bank Art Museum Moree, Drake Village Resource Centre, Gallery 126 in Armidale, Glen Innes Library, Glen Innes Tourism, Gunnedah Gallery and Library, Inverell Art Gallery, Inverell Library, Liverpool Plains Tourism, Make It Tenterfield, New England Regional Art Museum, 2 Rivers Pty Ltd Tamworth, Weswal Gallery and Tamworth Regional Gallery and Library, and Yamma Ganu Centre in Moree.
