Ms Veale joined Roseneath in June 2018 as the general manager, and before that appointment, she worked in the aged care sector in Armidale for 14 years.
"The Roseneath opportunity came up and when I came to look at the facility I found the staff were just lovely with residents and I thought - yep - this is the place," Ms Veale said of her move.
Her team submitted the LASA nomination stating Ms Veale's commitment to working in aged care and helping senior Australians in regional areas.
"Janelle has developed a culture of providing a customer focus service within a team environment," they said. "She is a leader with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement and has strong communication skills but her asset is her listening skills with staff, residents, and families."
Through Ms Veale's vision and commitment, Roseneath's residents' have 'satisfaction, staff morale and health professional partnerships'.
"She has created a buzz of excitement, joy and laughter," her nominators said.
In her thank you speech, Janelle highlighted the support of her staff and the extraordinary relationship she enjoys with Roseneath residents.
"You can only get there if you've got a good team," Ms Veale said.
"There are a lot of awesome things about my job. The stuff you learn from older people is just outstanding - our aged care residents are the smartest people I know."
Ms Veale received a trophy and $500, which she has used to buy a plant for Roseneath.
