The 19-year-old was airlifted to hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter on Thursday afternoon, after the accident near Guyra.
Ambulance paramedics received a triple zero call for help at 4.30pm after reports a woman had fallen from a car on the New England Highway.
The injured woman was found about 2km south of Guyra.

A spokesperson for Ambulance NSW confirmed two ambulance paramedic crews were deployed and treated the woman for grazing and abrasions all over her body.
Paramedics took spinal precautions at the scene with fears she may have suffered possible back injuries, the spokesperson said.
The chopper's critical care medical team assessed the woman at the scene before she was flown to hospital in a stable condition.
Police were called and the incident is under investigation.
