This year, the former backrower's loyalties will be tested with the Walcha Rams joining the New England competition where his university college club - St Albert's - reside.
Joyce spent time at both clubs during his playing days and looks back fondly on his time at both so how will he feel when they face off this Saturday for round three of the competition?

"This hurts either way doesn't it?" he said when the question was put to him.
"It will be a different game.
"The students, Albies, will be fast and Walcha will be heavy.
"It is going to be an interesting one to watch and I would be an absolute fool to try and say which child I love the most."
They will play at Peter Fenwicke Oval in Walcha.
