The Army has finally this week given way for Glen Innes' Great Central Hotel to do the job of feeding up to 180 hungry firefighters - after the longest emergency catering service period provided by the Salvation Army in NSW.

The Army has finally this week given way for Glen Innes' Great Central Hotel to do the job of feeding up to 180 hungry firefighters - after the longest emergency catering service period provided by the Salvation Army in NSW.

Glen Innes' RFS tent city, already open longer than initially planned, is set to remain for weeks longer, as emergency services and residents face an unprecedented fire season across the region.
