In their last start, the Redmen warded off a threat from Demon Knights, nabbing a 1-nil win.
"We were quite pleased with the way we played, didn't take our chances but that was a common theme," coach John Edmunds said.
"I think we deserved the victory."
The Scorpions are coming off a 6-nil triumph from their round 14 match against East Armidale.
The last time Norths and Souths collided, the Redmen overpowered their opponents for a 5-1 win.
The Scorpions were reduced to 10 men early in the clash and the rout began from there.
"To have a player sent off halfway through the first-half it is always going to be tough for them from there," Edmunds said.
"That is no indication of what is between the two teams.
"They are a very fit and young team, have got plenty of pace so it will be a hard-fought game again I imagine.
"Looking forward to it really. I coach because I like coaching but I am also hoping to see a good game of football."
The following week Norths will face ladder leaders Tamworth FC and Edmunds is hopeful to secure both wins to maintain their top two position.
Elsewhere, DK will be hoping to bounce back from the loss when they host North Companions.
The win-less East Armidale side will host Tamworth FC.
