The Nomads made the trip to Moree to take on the Suns on their new home ground and it was a convincing win in the end.
Angus Quail kicked seven goals in the 16.22-116 to 5.6-36 round seven win.
"Could have been a lot more convincing if we kicked straight," player-coach James Treweeke said.
"Falling back into old habits on the weekend by missing a lot of goals."
Despite the inaccuracy off the boot, Treweeke was happy with the play which led up to the goals and behinds.
"I thought to get the scoring shots, we actually played really well," he said.
"Even Starry [Adrian Walsh] said, it was the best open play we have had.
"Moree has got the new ground now and it is a lot bigger, pretty similar to our ground and we liked it with the open spaces.
"We used our pace and skills get around them."
By three-quarter time, Moree hadn't posted a goal but stormed home with five.
"I was a bit disappointed we couldn't finish off strong, I think they won the last quarter in the end," Treweeke said.
"They were goal-less up until three-quarter time.
"One of my goals was to keep them like that but I think they kicked four or five in that last one."
The Nomads have the bye this weekend before heading to Gunnedah in round nine.
The third-placed Nomads women's had the bye on Saturday but head to Tamworth for round eight to take on the Swans.
