EARLIER:
Dumaresq Dam has been closed to the public as police continue to search for missing man Glen Jones, aged 41, who was last seen leaving a home, on Newton Street, Armidale, about 5.20pm on Tuesday.
Police and family hold concerns for his welfare. Mr Jones is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175 cm tall, of medium build with brown hair and green eyes.
Detective Sergeant Mark Garvey has co-ordinated a three-kilometre boundary search on the outer limit of Dumaresq Dam.

"We have 31 people have volunteered from State Emergency Service, Volunteer Rescue Association and Rural Fire Service," Detective-Sergeant Garvey said.
"We have people from Inverell, Merriwa, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Uralla and Armidale.
"We have five teams that have either five or six people in each group.
"The conditions are cold and wet, but we are very serious about trying to find Glen Jones," he said.
He said the dam will be closed to the general public. While dogs are not allowed in the area, police said it has been a place where people took their pets.
But with the search underway, police were adamant that walking pets would not be tolerated, as they appealed to the public to stay away from the area until the search is concluded.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information is treated in strict confidence.
