They haven't managed to field a consistent side and their depth has been tested immensely throughout the opening seven rounds.
The Baa Baas third grade team has forfeited twice and the first grade side hasn't remained the same every week.
It's made it tough and the top grade side has failed to post a win this year.
"We are having a bloody terrible run. Unbelievable," first grade coach Greg Wynn said.
"That will turn around at some point.
"That is making it hard to keep the same team on the paddock.
"Two will come back and three will go out at the moment.
"It is what it is, not much we can do about it unfortunately."
As they prepare to take on a constantly improving St Albert's College this Saturday at Alcatraz, Wynn just wants the team to focus on defence.
"Every team now has put 40 on us so there are probably parts within games where we are quite competitive and there are moments within games where it could go either way and then for a range of reasons, the other teams are running away with it," he said.
"That has been a bit of concern of late.
"The emphasis for us this weekend is really on our defence."
St Albert's College have four losses and two wins from their opening six matches this season.
They posted their last win in round five against the Armidale Blues but were defeated by a rebounding Robb College in their round seven clash.
Co-coach Scott Waterson said although they have improved throughout the season, now is the time to kick it up a gear.
"It is a crunch game for us this weekend against Barbarians," he said.
"While we have taken a couple of big steps forward, we did take a large one backwards last week against a clinical and ruthless Robb side.
"Our side is quite mature and there was some introspection this week, but the upshot of that is that we have identified the areas that we need to improve, and acknowledged our strengths.
"The side is enthusiastic and keen to show just what they are capable of.
"That said, Barbarians have and will continue to improve, and they are a different outfit at home so we will need to be focused and at our peak to overcome them."
