Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall said council council would use the funding to build a large pathway up to Mt Mutton Lookout and upgrade parks in Uralla and every other village in the shire.
“They will be using that money to upgrade barbecue facilities, shade shelters and children’s playground equipment in existing parks in Kentucky, Kingstown, Bundarra at Invergowrie and at Uralla,” he said.

Uralla Mayor Michael Pearce said he was very pleased to see the funding coming into Uralla shire.
“I am especially pleased that council will also be able to spent some of it on the villages in the local government area,” Cr Pearce said.
Mr Marshall agreed a lot of funding was coming into the electorate.
He said there were seven local government areas in the Electorate, and he thought the stronger communities fund was one of the best funds the State or Federal governments had ever delivered to country areas.
“Often it is harder for us to get projects in our local community across the line and funded because we’re competing against other local government areas,” he said.
“This fund means that you’re not competing even with your next door neighbours. You’ve got a bucket of funding apportioned to your local government area, and it’s about applying for projects within your local government area to access those funds.
“It’s a very fair funding scheme, and it increases the chances of a number of community groups and projects getting funded, that ordinarily might struggle because they’ve had to compete against other projects from Tweed Heads to Ulladulla to Newtown.”
Funding worth $197,300 to construct a new amenities block at the Bundarra Sport and Recreation Club was also announced.
