The region’s best 400m runners were handicapped and faced off to see who could be crowned the winner.
On the home straight, pentathlete Nathan Smith surged to the front but was pipped by Emerson Fittler.
It was Fittler’s first time in the event and he raced from 410.8m.
Smith managed to hang on for second while Stuart Geddes overtook Jay Stone at the finish to claim the final spot on the podium.
The event was held after a special fundraiser run for young athlete Peta Kerr.
