NEGS are set to once again host their annual polocrosse carnival for 2018.
The school’s polocrosse club are gearing up for their multi horse event at the Bald Blair recreation ground this weekend with teams coming from interstate to compete.
With the rules allowing riders to use multiple horses, organiser Jo Finlayson said the two-day carnival is the perfect opportunity for a hit out in the lead up to next month’s national championships in Perth.
“Some of the ones coming down from Queensland are coming down so they can give their horses a run,” she said.
The event will also see funds raised for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
“One of the NEGS girls had an accident earlier in the year and she got choppered down to the Hunter so all the proceeds from the canteen are going to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter,” Finlayson said.
A, B and C divisions will be contested in the seniors.
Junior and sub-junior riders will also turn out for their divisions.
