Thousands of students from across the country sat this year's competition, in which Thomas scored a perfect 100 per cent, taking out both the NSW state and national titles.

“I like all history but Modern History fascinates me the most, especially the two World Wars,” Thomas said.
“I really didn’t expect to do so well.”
One of the more challenging aspects of the competition requires students to analyse unseen sources, meaning Thomas had to draw on all of the skills that he has learned in History classes over the last few years.
For his efforts Thomas received a medallion for being the state champion, a leather-bound certificate for being the national champion, and also a monetary prize of $250.
It is the second consecutive year that TAS has fielded the NSW Year 10 champion, following Thomas Price in 2017.
Six fellow TAS students achieved high distinctions in the competition.
“The result is a tribute to Thomas and his teachers and is a reflection of his interest and hardwork,” Headmaster Murray Guest said.
