It’s one of 29 tourism enterprises in the final for country NSW. Two other parts of the state – Riverina and the north coast – have separate competitions.
The Celtic Festival is competing at the ceremony in Orange against the Parkes Elvis Festival, Orange F.O.O.D Week and Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Winning would send the Glen Innes festival on to the state finals and then, perhaps, the national finals. Every win boosts publicity for the festival and probably generates more attendance and income.
When the finalists were announced, festival organiser Navanka Fletcher said: “We are thrilled to make it to this stage of the Awards, it is a real credit to the hard working volunteers and Committee members who donate their time to the Festival.
