The 13s A team was in division two and 13s B team was in division four.
Both teams worked extremely hard over the three-day carnival.
Thursday evening started with a goalie clinic, where three of our New England girls attended – Oli Davidson, Imogen Hislop and Ella Whitty.
The 13s A team had great results being undefeated for the tournament to finish second in their pool. The side went on to play Bathurst on Sunday morning, who was top in their pool. The girls fought extremely hard and were unlucky on a number of shots. They had a 1-all draw with Bathurst, but Bathurst proceeded to the grand final as they were higher in pool ratings.
The 13s B team are a very young team and were all new to the state championship carnivals. They started slow with a few losses, but then kicked up a gear to then have two convincing wins and finished in their pool. They went on to play Grafton who were fourth in their pool. The girls were all extremely tired, but they came away with a 0-0 draw with Grafton.
Zoe Davidson and Kyran Peltonen went away with the teams as the umpires. Zoe was team A umpire and Kyran was team B umpire. Both umpires did extremely well. Kyran worked his way up during the championship to be umpiring division two and three and ended up with the division three, third place pool game. Well done Kyran. Zoe continued to show her umpiring prowess during the tournament and was awarded the division one grand final umpiring position.
Both teams showed wonderful sportsmanship and mateship. They really did Hockey New England and Armidale proud.
