Country Labor party has announced their candidates for the impending state and federal elections.
Debra O’Brien and Yvonne Langenberg have joined the state and federal election campaign trail, respectively.
Armidale Regional councillor Debra O’Brien has put her hand up as a candidate for the seat of Northern Tablelands ahead of next year’s state election.
Ms O’Brien ran as the party’s candidate in the 2015 state elections but struck out against incumbent state member Adam Marshall, who has held the seat since May 2013.
The former teacher grew up in Moree and now lives in Armidale.
On the federal campaign trail, Armidale’s Yvonne Langenberg has stepped up to the plate as Country Labor’s candidate.
It is Ms Langenberg’s first brush with Australian politics.
She said she believes infrastructure, universal healthcare and education for all are the foundations.
“Country people have to put up with things that a city person wouldn’t even think about, and I’m really passionate about that,” the registered nurse said.
More to come.
