The Baa Baas toppled Tamworth in round six before beating St Albert’s College on Saturday.
The Blues are aiming to bounce back from their first loss of the season – to Tamworth – and Barbarians are aware of the danger of an Armidale team seeking redemption.
“They have been the benchmark this year no doubt,” co-coach Greg Wynn said.
“They will be a little bit disappointed coming off a loss so I don't see that as too much as a positive for us – they are probably going to want it a lot more after a loss.
“We are certainly looking forward to the challenge but are prepared to not take them lightly.”
While the Blues pose a threat, Wynn said his team are mainly focused on their own game plan.
“They are strong across the paddock but we need to be focused on our own performance. Us making sure we are doing our jobs right, trying to win our set piece, build some pressure and see what comes of it,” he said.
