Narwan lost 34-24 against Moree and will host Inverell for round eight.
The Eels played Inverell in round one and came away with a disappointing 42-14 loss but president Jay Roberts said they have improved since their opening game.
“I think we will be better prepared this time than we were in round one,” he said.
“We have a lot more match fitness and I think we have learned from our errors against the Hawks in round one.

“We have started gelling more in the halves and across the paddock.”
Narwan’s reserve grade suffered a narrow defeat to Moree 26-20.
In the league tag, the ‘Rangs and the Eels were neck-and-neck for most of the match before a handful of penalties hampered their performance.
The Narwan side went down 26-4 and will be hoping to re-group for this Saturday’s game against the Hawks.
“There are a lot of positives to take out of the game for the girls,” Roberts said.
“They fought for the whole game and then pulled up short in the last 10 and got punished for it.
“I think they will play this week, learn from their mistakes and turn up really well against Inverell.”
