Ben Lomond’s old hall was transformed into a glamorous venue complete with twinkling fairy lights and more than 100 people attended to support Friendly Faces Helping Hands Foundation.
The event itself was the brainchild of Kelly Foran, who had the determination, willpower and drive to forge together an enthusiastic committee of eight local ladies (and supported by their husbands and families) to coordinate and host this amazing and wonderful event.
More stories:
One of those eight organisers, Krystle Nugent, said the intent for the evening from the outset was to be high end.
“From the invitations, to decorations, food and atmosphere - we wanted our guests to be wowed the moment that they arrived and to enjoy every moment of the evening,” she said.
And we are pretty sure they succeeded!
The food was all sourced locally and the main ingredients all donated from local producers and suppliers and all prepared by the hard-working committee.
Glen Innes High School students volunteered their time to assist in welcoming guests and meal service while gaining valuable vocational experience and entertainment throughout the evening was courtesy of a live auction of a number of generously donated packages from local businesses and even MP Adam Marshall donated a dinner at Parliament House with himself and another MP of the winner’s choosing.
Friendly Faces Helping Hands Foundation links people from rural communities to the major hospitals, health facilities and resources within cities.
