It’s her first time taking part in the competition and she said it was a great experience.
“I wanted to be an ambassador for the younger generation and hopefully get some more girls involved in Showgirl,” Ms Saunders said.
“It was a good experience for interview skills, public speaking and getting out there to represent your community.”
Ms Saunders was unsuccessful in moving on to Sydney in the regional finals over the weekend but said she was excited to open the Guyra Show.
On the black tie evening, she was asked questions about how to get the younger generation involved in their show societies and her career aspirations.
“I’m involved in the cattle and sheep judging in Guyra, I explained that if I could get into schools I’d like to get kids involved that way,” Ms Saunders said.
“The second question – I work in travel so I plan to travel more.”
