Just after 6pm on Friday, a man was riding his motorcycle along Guyra Road, about 25km east of Tingha, when the vehicle left the road while negotiating a turn and crashed into a number of trees, a NSW Police spokesman said.

The male rider, aged 55, was thrown from the vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the location.

However, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

Officers from Inverell police station are investigating the incident and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
