In a true romantic gesture, Guyra Business Chamber president Aileen MacDonald made the highest bid to dunk husband MLC Scot MacDonald.
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall and Armidale Regional Council mayor Simon Murray also took one for the team.
“I liked all of it,” Cr Murray said.
“I was impressed with the crowd for staying until Santa came at 7:30pm and we lit the Christmas tree in spite of the rain.
“As for why I put my body on the line so to speak, was to support a good cause.”
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall went up against a ball thrown by Chay Walker and lost.
“It wasn’t the best weather for getting wet, but I was happy to do it to support the Guyra preschool and give everyone a laugh at a great community event,” Mr Marshall said.
“I just wish I’d remembered to bring a change of clothes.”
