But there isn’t enough space to display them.
Council has made an application to the Regional Cultural Fund for display cabinets to showcase historical Indigenous items.
“The good thing about it is we acknowledge our local Aboriginal history,” mayor Michael Pearce said.
“We’re well aware of the fact that McCrossin’s Mill is one of the few places with an exhibition on the local Anaiwan community.
“We do and this is a benefit for our community and for our tourism industry.
“People love history and they love Indigenous history as well, so we’re quite proud to be able to do that."
Deputy mayor Isabel Strutt said it was very positive that the local elders wanted to donate cultural artefacts.
The cost of the cabinets is more than $4700. The proposed location is the Uralla Library.
The application was lodged on September 4.
