An angry pack of Guyra residents donned orange and rallied in the CBD on Friday to mark the one-year anniversary since the forced amalgamation between the former Guyra Shire and Armidale Dumaresq councils.
And ANTY [Amalgamation? No Thank You!] group spokeswoman Beth White said Guyra joined all the state’s forcibly merged councils in protest.
The “picket line” start behind the NAB carpark at noon before rallying towards the former Guyra Shire Council building.
“We want democracy, we want Guyra back,” Ms White said.
