The Presentation Dinner held at the Armidale Golf Club, celebrated the success of the tournament.
The NEDGA tournament executive were thanked for the organisation of this event which drew players from Inverell, Tenterfield, Deepwater, Glen Innes, Guyra, Armidale, Uralla, Delungra and Walcha. Major sponsors for the event were Bridges, Elders Insurance and Walkley Golf.
Vanessa Ward (Armidale) won the Open Championship, Closed Championship and Open Veterans’ Championship with 176 gross over 36 holes. Runner up was Cheryl McDonald of Walcha with 189 gross.
Cheryl won Champion of champions too. Alana Tobin (Armidale) won the Division 2 gross with 198 while Division 3 was won by Lou Robertson (Armidale) with 223 over 36 holes.
The Open Foursomes Championship on Monday was won by Vanessa Ward and Kay Nash who combined well to score 96 while Division 2 winners were Penny King and Polly Locke (Walcha) who scored 110.
Next year’s NEDGA Women’s Tournament event will be held at the challenging Inverell Golf Course.
