Gwynne was selected for Country Sixers in the under 16s State Challenge after his performances for Central North at the Bradman Cup last month impressed selectors.
His Central North coach Barry Smith said it was a great achievement for the representative newcomer.
"He hadn't played for Central North before so he was on debut at the Bradman Cup,” he said.
"Rod Bryant who was the zone coach did a lot of work with him when he was up in Armidale so he can take a lot of credit for getting Jackson's bowling to the level it is now.
“He is not an out and out fast bowler but he is tall and gets good bounce.”
Fellow Central North players in Tamworth’s Conrad George and Maitland’s William Fort will line up for Country Thunder at the competition in April.
