UPDATE:
A second brawl had marred New Year’s Eve celebrations in Armidale.
It comes just one hour after police cleared the Tourist Information Centre carpark from an earlier incident.
Fighting broke out again between the visitor’s centre and the PB service station.
More than 20 people watched on as about six women went toe-to-toe, witnesses say.
“It took seven police officers to stop the fight,” they said.
Glass at the entrance to the visitor’s centre was also smashed.
And a security guard is now monitoring the building.

EARLIER:

Armidale’s family friendly New Year’s Eve party turned sour more than two hours before midnight after police responded to a brawl in the Tourist Information Centre carpark.
Witnesses say about eight police officers stepped in to stop the fight and two males were handcuffed.
The incident happened less than an hour after the 9pm fireworks, an event run especially for young children and families.
More to come.
