OSCAR winning Shaun Tan will showcase an exhibition at the New England Regional Art Museum.
NERAM director Robert Heather said the exhibition had been touring regional areas across the country.
“This is a fabulous opportunity for our visitors to experience the different creative processes that go into making an award-winning animated film,” Mr Heather said.
“The wonderful imagination of Shaun Tan has created some of Australia’s most beautiful and thought provoking picture books which appeal to children and their parents.”
An animated short film of Tan’s s The Lost Thing won an Academy Award in 2011 and now the tour, Shaun Tan’s The Lost Thing: from book to film, will be on display at the gallery until July 24.
“It’s a very interactive exhibition, Shaun Tan is really popular with children, filmmakers, artists and designers,” Mr Heather said.
The exhibition will open tonight at 6pm and will be opened by the New England Writers’ Centre director Sophie Masson as part of the Booked In children’s and youth adult literary festival.
