In Handicap Singles R Walls (plus 2) took on D Kennedy (minus 8). Robert opened the proceedings and by winning the first four ends went out to a lead of 10 to minus 8.
Dan then won the next five ends to get back into the black to be trailing by 3-10.
Robert then surged again scoring on the next five ends to increase his lead to 18-3. Dan dug deep and by winning the following seven ends had closed the gap to 17-18.
Tit for tat for a couple of ends and after 23 ends the score read 19-all. Robert once more to the front 21-19 after 25 ends.
It was at this stage Dan found another gear and by securing shots on the next seven ends, fell over the line with a 31-21 victory over Robert after 32 entertaining ends.
S Sole (minus 5) then did battle with M Bourke (plus 1) also in Handicap Singles.
With the majority of the early ends going Steven’s way, after 10 ends the score read 4-all. Then after 12 ends it was 5-all.
Murray then took the lead 6-5. Steven had another surge and after 19 ends found himself in front by 15-6.
Not to be outdone, Murray had a dig and by end 23 was trailing 11-15. Steven fired up once again going out to a lead of 29-13, before tasting victory by 31-16 over Murray after 34 hard fought ends.
The last of the day saw B Campbell and B Presnell fight it out in Open Singles.
With all the money on Barry to win, this was going to be interesting (nicknames will be used). Moose out first, 2-nil and then 3-1 after three ends.
Snout then had his turn and by end five the score was 3-all before going to his own lead of 6-3.
End 9 and it was 6-all. These two combatants then went end for end and after 14 the score read 11-all and then 12-all after 16.
Moose hit the front and after 18 ends led 14-12. Snout then pounced and after 21 ends found himself back in front by 24-14.
Moose came again and after end 27 was trailing 23-25 (game on). Snout, by scoring on the next ends, fell over the line tasting victory to the tune of 31-23 after 30 torrid ends.
Sunday saw R Moore and D Wilcox take to the green in Major Singles.
David came out the better, powering his way to an 11-nil lead after four ends and then to 14-3 after nine.
Robert then had a dig and came back, to be trailing 11-14. David fired up once more, taking the score out to 29-11 before tasting victory over Robert by 31-13.
