ADE classes aim to provide dance students with the opportunity to dance in a creative, safe and positive environment in which they can learn all aspects of the art of dance, as well as improve dance skills to benefit their everyday living.
Students are given the opportunity to perform in dance eisteddfods throughout the year, as well as performing in our annual dance recital held at Lazenby Hall UNE Armidale. Our recital gives our students the experience of performing in a professional dance show.
Last year 35 local dancers from Guyra performed in our recital and two Guyra students Kelsie Youman and Savannah Roberts received their 10 year dance jacket in appreciation for their dedication and support for ADE.
Kelsie and Savannah made a speech thanking their parents for giving them the opportunity to dance, as well as taking them to all their required lessons and rehearsals. The girls thanked Miss Colette and all the other teachers from ADE that have mentored and supported their love for dance over the last 10 years.
ADE takes pride in the fact that as a community dance school we like to support our local communities and families. This year ADE made a donation during our recital to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as we have a 12 year old student recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and a teacher that has lived with type 1 diabetes since the age to 12. We hope our donation will help with funding for research into a cure for people living with type 1 diabetes.
