The school will start accepting applications in April for the opportunity class, joining more than 70 primary schools across the state offering such a program.
From next year Principal Matt Hobbs will accept 15 year 5 pupils and then a total of 30 year 5 and 6 children in 2017.
Class would probably feature inquiry and project based learning, Mr Hobbs said.
The class will theoretically be able to accept students from anywhere in the state and will provide an opportunity for accelerated learning to students in schools that don’t have the staff or resources to have their own gifted program.
