Heavy rain over the last two days has put smiles on the faces of farmers around the district. The weather station at Guyra MPS recorded a total of 100mm over two days on January 26 and 27.

Isolated storms at about 2pm on Tuesday January 27 caused flash flooding over a wide area. Rain continued into the night with totals reaching close to 100mm in some areas, the heaviest single days fall for many years. Pictures taken west of Guyra after 51mm fell in less than half an hour.
