The four-year-old gelding took out the $100,000 TAB Highway Handicap over 1600m in a thrilling finish.
Apprentice Jenny Duggan guided Point Counterpoint over the line to beat Tommy Berry riding Lord Desanimaux by a nose.
It was the gelding's second attempt at a Highway race, third in the city, after finishing fourth in Rosehill on November 6.

The son of Bull Point has enjoyed a successful career since his transfer to the Armidale stable.
After joining from Victoria, he managed a second place in his first start for Osland in Armidale in a 1900m Maiden in January before breaking through for his first win in Grafton over 1700m.
He then notched up two more second places before finishing first on his home track, third in Tamworth and then winning in Newcastle.
